Traditional Chinese medicine utilises acupuncture and herbal medicine from the amalgamation of centuries of knowledge and practice to form a flexible and holistic system for the treatment of disease. Acupuncture within the Traditional Chinese medicine paradigm treats the entire body as an integrated whole, examining all signs and symptoms- mental-emotional complaints, lifestyle factors and past history, to form a diagnosis and individual treatment plan.

In Australia, TCM practitioners undergo rigorous training at the degree level, and are regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), in partnership with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA). Samantha is a registered acupuncturist and a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.

Herbal Medicine

Samantha is qualified in both Western naturopathic herbal medicine and Traditional Chinese herbal medicine or TCM. During your session she will undertake a thorough case history and prescribe herbal medicines tailor made for your presentation. Medicines can be dispensed as pills, capsules, granules or liquids to fit with your lifestyle and preference.

Samantha has had a long-standing passion for natural medicine, first becoming interested in the use of herbs for medicine at a young age.

She undertook a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy degree at Western Sydney University. Graduating in 2005, the degree allowed her to establish a solid knowledge base in Western herbal medicine and naturopathic nutrition. This degree also included a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy, and these massage skills are often used to enhance her acupuncture treatments.

After working in the natural medicine industry for several years, gaining life experience through travel and children, she was inspired by her acupuncturist partner. She wanted to expand her therapeutic toolkit to include acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

After a long haul of juggling part time university and raising a young family, she obtained her second degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from University of Technology, Sydney, gaining AHPRA registration in 2019 with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia as an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist.

With her background encompassing both naturopathic medicine and Chinese medicine, Samantha will examine your signs and symptoms holistically, and work with you to create a plan for achieving and maintaining your health and wellness goals.
